The Milford hotel captured first prize for best holiday decor in the business district. The home of Mr and Mrs Rudolph Nickun won the residence prize. Special mentions went to Standard Station run by C B Leech and Telluride Power office. homes of Mr and Mrs O C Koon and Mr and Mrs LaMar Gutzen also recognized. Judges included Mrs Rudolph Nielsen, Mrs M P Lewis, Al Witthurn, and W E Martin.
A tractor trailer loaded with cottonseed cake from Phoenix to a sheep camp west of Black Rock collapsed a bridge on Highway 91 W in Millard County. The rear end was torn free and the trailer wrecked. eight torches freed the salvageable wheels. The driver and companion escaped injury, speeds were questioned.
Mr and Mrs William Cochran Jr leave Sunday morning for Walnut California after a Christmas visit with local relatives and friends Miss Margaret Cochran a local beauty shop operator joins them to vacation and plans to attend the Stanford Nebraska Rose Bowl game and the Tournament of Roses parade sponsored by Bill Cochran who has many photos from past events
Gladys Mae Martin and Ray Scott Flaher wed Thursday December 26 in Milford amid family and friends. The couple, high school sweethearts and former U S C A C students, plan January 4 departure for Pullman Washington where Flaher resumes teaching studies at Washington State College.
The schedule lists games for Milford Delta Beaver Fillmore Hinckley and Millford with dates from January to March. Matchups include Milford at Delta Beaver at Fillmore Hinckley at Milford January 10 and February 7 14 18 21 22 plus several byes and rescheduled clashes.
Auxiliary to B L E held its annual installation on Thursday December 1 with officers for 1941 including Past President Mrs Nora Decker President Wanda Holm Vice President Marvel Connell Secretary Betty Dawson Treasurer Hazel Steenbock Insurance Secretary Magdalena White Chaplain Jessie Farmer Guide Flora Cuddy Sentinel Florence Barnes and others. A social gathering at the Union Pacific dining room followed with bridge games. Prizes were awarded to Mrs Decker and Mr White. honors to Mrs Cuddy and Mr Connell. consolation to Mrs Holm and Mr Decker. travel prize to Mrs Farmer.

Southern Italy students may win ten scholarships to Brasen Agricultural College at Cedar Gley for a flying course. Director Walters announces the program in cooperation with the Civil Aeronautics Authority of the U S Department of Commerce. Four scholarships have been granted with applications urged from qualified southern Utah men aged 19 or older who can pass a commercial physical exam and have two years of college, or one year if currently enrolled.
Eleven members of Milford High School’s 1938 class attended the third reunion and dinner dance in the Union Pacific dining room. Bud Williams was elected president for 1841 with Ruth Jones as vice president and Esther Easton as secretary-treasurer. Additional members included Sarah Cuddy Murdock Elaine Kirk Margaret Moore Rosalie Smith Clifton Corbridge Dors Hughes Willard Evans and Hal Fisher guests included Principal and Mrs FERB Moods Virginia Baxter Bob Murdock Areith Campeau Rot est Walter Mart and Stanley Hughes.

Mr and Mrs Earl G Henney and children returned Monday from a week on the coast with relatives in Los Angeles They include their oldest son Tom a 1988 Milford High School graduate who attended the University of Utah two years and now works in the office of a large steel distributor on the coast
