Donald Stewart underwent an appendectomy last week at Milford hospital. Bara and family returned from Palm Desert Nevada after Christmas visit. Minx and Mrs Sherman Carter stay with Twan McKnight while the McKnights travel to Los Angeles. Walter and Jess Cook families visited Roy and Cottrell on Christmas Day. Helen Baker and Glenna Rollins spent two days in Beaver visiting relatives.
Milford officials business leaders and residents urged designated site for a planned 1000-bed U S Army hospital. Walter E. Harold La Marr Morris, 18, of Milford, graduated last week from the Group 2 communications principal school at the United States Naval Training Station in San Diego California. Morris, seaman second class, joins thousands of young Americans learning modern mechanical devices, under expert instructors, to maintain the materials and units vital to national security.
President Franklin D Roosevelt proclaims the Red Cross War Fund Campaign to raise at least fifty million dollars to support civil defense and welfare efforts during wartime. The notice, dated December 12, 1941, appeals to the American people for immediate support and outlines the Red Cross role in aiding service members and families.
Milford town board changes are few as Walter E. Martin and trustees Gardner Waddingham and Kronholm earn new two year terms. M H Pool replaces Willis Whitbeck on the board.
