Services Held For Charles Sloan

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Community Church for Charles C. Sloan 74 longtime merchant county commissioner and school board member who died Friday morning after a leg amputation to treat a venous condition. The Rev Blackstock officiated with Attorney Sam Cline and a musical program by local performers. Burial followed in the local cemetery. Sloan born December 1 1868 in Arcola Missouri came to Milford in 1915 and ran a major store while serving as county official and on the county board of education. Surviving are two daughters Frances Stanley Salt Lake City and Ama Jayne Johnson Glendale California a granddaughter three brothers Thomas Sloan Meaps Nevada Floyd Sloan Greenville Missouri and Orville Sloan Tulsa Oklahoma. Out of town friends included Velda Kirkham Ogden.
