The Milford ration board has a new chairman, Whatches Hanley, succeeding David S. Williams who served over 18 months. Woman Visitor Dies Here After Stroke in Milford
Mrs Frances Ada Baxter 66 of Ocean Park California died Saturday morning at Milford hospital from a stroke suffered about three weeks earlier while visiting relatives in Milford. Burial will be in Fillmore under Southern Utah Mortuary. Born November 7 1877 in Salt Lake City she was the widow of Ernest Claude Baxter and sister of Charles V George and Ross Baxter of Milford. Survived by daughter Mrs Stella Gilligan of Fillmore who came to Milford to help care for her mother with her grandchild.

Mrs Metan Weston Mrs Jane Jowen and Mrs Carlie Waddoups hosted the American Legion Auxiliary Christmas party at the community center on Monday December 20. A short business meeting welcomed new members Ed Bardsley Mary Seed Morgan Griffiths and Lanney. Milford Unit No 16 led state in membership at 158 percent earning a $10 prize. The secretary was instructed to order poppies early due to rising demand. Refreshments were served, tables decorated with a Christmas motif, and gifts exchanged before bridge. Miss Helen Fytheringnan arrived Monday for a visit with home folks and friends.

An ordinary air mail note links an alumnus of Milford High School and BAC classmate Lieutenant David Lewis who flew combat missions over Nazi Europe. Lewis, navigator of a fortress, reportedly took part in the Schweinfurt raid where 60 American heavy bombers were lost.
