Funeral services for Deseret Neront Hickman who died of a heart attack Sunday December 5 were held in the Milford LDS ward chapel Wednesday December 8 with Bishop Carl Goodwin in charge. The ceremony featured prayers, musical numbers by local performers, and remarks by several speakers. Pallbearers included Sam Hickman Jr Junior Kirk Bill Kirk Richard Horton Earl Horton and Leland Rogers. Twenty Tigerette Club flower girls attended. Relatives from out of town listed include families from Salt Lake City Arizona Midvale Beaver and Los Angeles.

Milford High School’s Speech Department staged a three act mystery drama Who Killed Aunt Caroline on December 15 directed by students Jorgia Bardtrief and Kent Myers with advisor D C Watkins. The ensemble included Florence Openshaw Pat Kesler Kent Myers Mar gery Walker Dick Bracken Anna McCulley Betty dane Firmage Lorraine Lofthouse Paral Rheides Martha Ken Carlton Clyde Turner and Una Hageman among others. The show drew praise as one of the finest Milford High plays in years and plans were announced to tour Lille and Beaver with production by students and advisory help from Mr Watkins.

Milford native Vance Fisher who has led the J C Penney store in Milford for eight years resigns effective December 31 to start his own business after the new year. He joined Penney in August 1930 and rose to manager following a stint at American Fork. Milford stores rose from low stock to top state performance in 1944 and 1945 before finishing second. Exact new business plans and location will be announced later.
