Entor W Warner Mitchell of the Parowan Times was seen with his wife Mrs Mitchell and their daughter along with a close family friend. The gathering occurred on a Sunday in Milford.
Milford volunteers plan a benefit show Tuesday December 13 at the high school auditorium to aid join the state firemen's association and secure insurance benefits. The Milford Fire Department will present the one act play Recess and Oshah Studies featuring a Negro college story with characters such as Professor Nwabakull and students, plus an amateur contest with Walt Martin as emcee.
The new camp, DG-117 Camp Burbank, sits near Milford at Burbank by Garrison and Milford, serving Grazing District No. 3 across Beaver and Millard counties. Commanded by Captain J Hobart Miller, with Lt Ray Stites, Captain Martin Kerlan as camp doctor, and educator Richard N Thompson directing teaching from fourth grade to college level. Seventeen Milford High School students joined 430 students and 62 faculty from 52 high schools at Brigham Young University for the Sixth Annual Conference of Intermountain Scholastic Journalists. A tribute to late Professor Harrison R Merrill opened the event along with portraits, talks by reading journalists, luncheons, and panel discussions of student publications.
The new L D S chapel at Garrison in Snake Valley district was dedicated under Pr BE Hincksey, stake president. Construction began October 1997 by valley residents at a total cost of 2843. Participants included Sylvan Warner Baker Van Call Virginia Warner Blanche Yersin Zehnin Dearden and L D S Primary and Relief societies members from Ely and Snake Valley.

Milford High School led by Coach Lloyd Kotter pulled off a 28 to 26 victory over Monroe High in a hard fought contest. Gillins and Bud James sparked Milford as they overcame an early 8-0 deficit and held the lead 20-15 late in the game before Monroe tied it and Milford clinched the win with a late decisive shot.
