Turkeys and Pheasants Planted for Milford Area Study

Milford sportsmen helped plant 400 pheasants and six wild turkeys from the Springville state farm. The pheasants stem from the farm’s annual hatch, while the turkeys trace to an original wild stock donated by Milford Beaver County Fish and Game Club members for breeding and study. A gobbler and two hens were kept for exhibition at the county fair. The effort follows prior wild turkey plantings in the mountains east of town, now yielding sightings from Granite Pass to various points.

Treasure Island Follies at Milford County Fair Nights

Milford hosts the Treasure Island Follies at the new $15,000 fair grounds for three nights. The Hollywood revue features 30 performers including Bet Duo Monte Rochelle Rex Denny and a Hollywood chorus with colorful lighting and outdoor stage setup.

Wranglers Make Radio Tour Through Western States

Wranglers a group led by Thelma Thumpest and Wilma Corbridge with Ben Hunt and Dhirrell Merchant toured from Cedar City to Utah and Nevada towns. They appeared on a one minute radio program and performed in Garricon, Baker, Bly and McGill, with stops in Rye Prvele Catlentu Panara and Modiens before Cedar Tits. The Athletic club, formerly the Venus and Adonis club, initiated the first of two outdoor picnic stoves on the vacant lot behind W. B. Gardner residence Tuesday evening. Laurence Peterson led the team that constructed the first stove and explained the project.

Dempsey May Attend Milford Home Coming

Jack Dempsey, longtime Frisco resident with ties to Milford, may attend Milford's first Home Coming on a Wednesday evening as a lead in to the 1999 Beaver County Fair. Betty Compson, born in Beaver County, is also linked but her current address is unknown. Dempsey's reply expresses thanks and intent to attend if in the area.
