Milford American Legion members honored at state convention
Four Milford men and women received state level offices at the joint Milford post and Auxiliary convention in Park City. Helena McGarry was chosen second vice president and John M. Coffeen became district commander for district 7. Milford sent a large delegation, marching in Friday’s parade and attending meetings and social events with seven delegates listed. Next year’s convention location was set for St George. George S. Ballif named department commander and Joseph Nelson national committeeman for the Legion.

Railroad Fire Threatens Sawdust Storage Building
A sawdust storage shed near the ice house in Union Pacific yards caught fire Friday at nine. Ray Beck alerted D. M. Carroll and Spencer Shaw, who summoned town fire services and used UP equipment to extinguish the blaze before the town truck arrived. Spontaneous combustion is suspected as the cause.

Funeral services held Sunday for Arch Chilton
Max Arch Chilton five year old son of L B and Mrs May Chilton died Friday at Milford hospital from a ruptured appendix. Services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church with Reverend H D Shepherd and Raymond Taylor speaking. Interment in Milford cemetery. Survived by his parents a brother Buddy a sister Caral Louise and grandparents.
