Town board moves to enforce water rules after only forty percent of users pay rentals. Watermaster to limit sprinkling hours and shut off taps for delinquent accounts. Payment plans may be offered for back bills. further violations to be penalized.

Local Braille Worker Honored

Murray B. Allen, Utah Commission field agent for the adult blind, stopped in Beaver en route to Salt Lake and commented on resolutions of appreciation for Miss Kendall Franke. He also wrote to Miss Adelia Hoyt, Braille director, suggesting inclusion of the work in her Braille accomplishments report.

Civic Club Seeks Representation on Relief Funds Committee

Following Governor Dern's call for a committee to distribute Reconstruction Finance Corporation funds, the Associated Civic Club of Southern Utah asks that a district representative join the panel. Club directors argue local projects would benefit from the funds and a resident from the district would help ensure favorable consideration. Railroad News Sees Staff Movements and Load Plans

Conductor J W O Hara returns from Oklahoma to visit family while Conductor Lee Gray relocates to Cedar City. J N Yeager travels from Provo to resume work on the U P. FE. R Johnson and A J Jensen brakemen operate out of Cedar City. The railroad prepares to handle about seventy five cars of Dixie fruit next week with loading in Cedar City and icing at the hub.

When a Jail Isn’t a Jail in Milford

A Milford jail case shows lattice bars were too wide to stop liquor. Inmates received alcohol from outside. a steel ore-sifter screen fixed doors and windows, keeping newcomers sober after admission.

County dairymen to have tour next Monday morning

D. A. Jones and Prof. George B. Caine of the U S A will visit Beaver to meet dairymen for a roughly 100 hour tour with a brief meeting afterward. They will judge a Junction show at 8 P M and can only spare the morning. The visit, part of a four and a half day state tour, highlights Beaver County as a dairy area. The itinerary includes 3 4 miles and about a dozen stops with practical demonstrations. Everyone is invited. Arion Hall is being repainted for the fall and winter dance season.

Night Airmail Service Resumes Monday Between Salt Lake City and San Diego

Postmaster General Brown orders the night airmail service between Salt Lake City and San Diego to resume Monday August 15 with two extra planes through Milford. Eastbound and westbound flights align for morning delivery and connections to Pocatello Butte and Great Falls. Additional mail volume will drive airport and broadcasting station improvements.

Milford firefighters traded duty for a trout outing at South Creek Saturday night and Sunday. They ill prepared for fishing but returned home early Sunday with tales of the trip. Analysis of Milford club last five games shows Dolly Carter leading with a .652 average on 15 hits in 23 at bats and notable fielding plays. Red Cross Officers Report On Beav er County Relief Aid

A Milford meeting of Red Cross officers from two Beav er County chapters reviewed distribution issues and flour and feed provided this year. The report lists 892 livestock owners and totals of cattle hogs sheep poultry and hens benefiting from 3 770 000 pounds of relief feed issued during drought in 1981, noting it supported dairy cattle work stock and poultry and swine production.

Father of J. W. Jones Ends Life at Gunnison

J W Jones, examiner in charge of the State Bank of Beaver County, was recalled from Los Angeles after his father in Gunnison died by his own hand. The elder Jones, fearing decline and after heavy mine losses, left letters to his children.

Largest Scout Camp Planned in Beaver Mountains

The Timpanios Council organizes the largest encampment in this region from August 29 to September 6 in the Beaver Mountains. 230 to 250 scouts from Beaver Milford and Tron counties, with 20 plus instructors, will attend at Puffer Lake north cove. 40 cent registration covers meals. guns are forbidden and daily instruction by experts is planned. Potential instructors include Chas DeGrall, Lee Kay, Dr Carl Young, and others from B Y U Dixie College Provo and state departments.

Mrs. T. B. Davis Dies in Beaver

Mrs. T. B. Davis wife of Thomas B. Davis a county pioneer died Tuesday evening at her Beaver home after a long illness. The couple formerly resided in Milford for many years and many friends here extend sympathy to the bereaved family.
