A midnight break in at the Jefferson store left grocer Harry Jefferson with a head wound. Two youths, about 22, forced entry through a skylight, slugged him, and fled toward a truck described as a Chevrolet with a cracked plate. Survived by wife Lena Blanche Shylds, son Sharon Alma, parents C T Hollis and Frances Crosby Hollis, brothers Charles Ambrose Kenneth and Palrb oo, sister Stella Ashby and others. Hollis was active in Boy Scouts and employed by Telluride Power Company as lineman at time of death.
From Kentucky, Mr and Mrs Chester Mornhack and two children arrived Tuesday from Glendale. They have resided with Mrs Horntack's mother, Mrs By 8, Gray, before making their home at Burbank where Chester works on the Davis ranch. They were accompanied to Milford by Mike Morgan who had been attending a school in Kentucky.
The Beaver county Republican convention elected Joseph Reelected County Chairman for two years. Mrs L G Clay Milford vice chairwoman and George Jefferson Milford state committeemen along with Lilian McKnight Minciaville and George Millar Bouyer as committeewomen and men. Keynote speaker David J Wilson of Duren criticized Democratic officials and praised Beaver Republicans for youth involvement. Delegates named for the state convention in Salt Lake City with Milford Minersville Beaver and other county members.
Republicans in Milfore precinct split into two district meetings last week and set up district committees for two years. District 2 chose Laurence Peterson as chairman with Mrs. L R Bowen as vice chair and James F. Glenn as secretary treasurer. Delegates named include Howard Gospill and others to attend the county convention in Beaver. District 1 re elected Harold Cline as chairman with Mrs Harold Baxter and Joe Baranski as officers. Delegates to the county convention include Theodore Kronhalm and several listed members.
About 450 Utah high school youths will attend the Utah Association of Future Farmers of America annual convention at Utah State Agricultural College Logan. Mark Niches will direct activities with Jean Pagel and FF.A. delegates attending. The new field house, financed by federal funds and college revenue bonds, hosts meetings, conventions, and music gatherings, proving valuable to northern Utah and the state.
