The News reports that nursing classes on care of the sick will start early in May under the direction of Mrs Diana Methiltey with sessions for all nurses and young mothers urged to participate. Contact Mrs McCulley or Mrs Laren Ch Home Nursing chairman for details. a definite schedule will appear next week.
A flood of Milford social notes details weekend trips to Salt Lake City and Salt Lake area by Mr and Mrs Merrell Luna Mr and Mrs William Ashworth and others. Many locals visited relatives in California Nevada and Idaho. Attendees include Mrs Rudolph Nielsen Mrs Nielsen Department Auxiliary activities in the capital city. Several families hosted guests and returned from travel keeping Milford connected to broader states and communities.
A planned community event promises free films at the high school auditorium on Thursday evening. The Department of Publicity announced the show titled The Crimson Uhns, touting scenic footage and a tour in support of the Know Your Way campaign with emphasis on distributing tourism dollars fairly across states. William Winder of Publicly Mis le lorghet urged Utah residents to participate, noting equitable shares of tourism revenue and the benefits of a profitable travel tour program.

Minutsville Rudgervole reservoir, slated for dam repairs and planned drainage this summer, will open early for game fishing on May 13. A proclamation from the Utah Fish and Game Commission, received this week, follows a Beaver meeting where Wildlife Clubs urged an early opening to allow fishing before the lake is drained.
Utah Fish and Game Commission issues amendments allowing taking of game and rough fish at Minersville Reservoir Beaver County from May 15 to Oct 3, 1948 and bans fishing from boats on impounded waters in Blacksmith Fork and Logan Canyons Cache County. Violations are misdemeanors.
Spring operations begin on the 40 acre Turn owned by Milford Leb Ward Welfare project. Carl Gindwin reports Elgintean farmers moved their gear onto the field last Saturday with eight equipped to plow, seven with disc harrows, two with magnets, and one with a leveler. They plowed and disc ed the full area and 14 acres await planting. Orrin Willmans supervised field repairs as workers prepared for a garden phase. A noon dinner was hosted by the Relied Society. On April 24 Bishop Goodwin named it a day of work to ready the plot for a garden and expressed satisfaction at the project’s start.
Mrs Edna Hardsman reports on visits by Pacey Th Bisber and family, a Meadow outing, and a Community Club House event featuring weed control and paste pro era demonstrations. Bishop Goodwin praises LDS work in Jebured ford with lifewtchers and forty men at the site. South Milford H Club elects new officers and adopts the Steady Stitchers name.
Milford Lions discuss summer recreation and pool maintenance at a regular meeting. They consider reopening the city pool with health board cooperation and funding, and table a plan for a July Fourth boat race on the Minersville reservoir while awaiting a committee report on wider Beaver and Minersville participation.
