Federal Judge Willis Ritter will hear arguments in Salt Lake City on the Braasch Sullivan petition seeking a writ of habeas corpus. The killers contend rights were violated before trial for the murder of How ard W. Manzione. Beaver County residents oppose mercy for the two men and call delays and appeals intolerable.
Hospital notes list several patients released this week including Mrs. Floyd Beddingfield James Atkin Sheridan Rogers and others. Admitted last week were Barbara Tanner Donald Rowley Eileen Willyard Lucille Ferguson and three more with injuries and medical care. A third son William Lester James born March 28 to Mr and Mrs Cliff James. Michelle Jeanette born March 28 to Mr and Mrs Mitchell White. Martha Ann Banks born March to Mr and Mrs Garth Banks incubator status noted. New mother and daughter released this week include Mrs John Cousins Mrs Willard Thompson and Mrs Eugene Johnsen.
Mr and Mrs Sam Cline have returned from a two week vacation trip in Las Vegas and California. The couple toured popular hotels and enjoyed leisure time together before resuming daily routines.
Beaver County water users fear flood damage as record snowpack and warm sun drive rapid runoff toward a peak in May. Forest Ranger H M Christensen reports snow depths and water contents well above average at Big Flat Otter Lake and Merchant Valley, with projections of heavy spring discharge threatening canals storage dams power plants and lands.
South Milford farmers join with the Soil Conservation Service to plant hundreds of wind-break and shelter belt trees this spring. Utah State Agricultural College Extension Division will supply the trees at low cost and a new SCS tree planter will be used. Orders must be placed soon to reserve trees, with prices from 1.50 to 4.00 per hundred. Call H. L. Tolley at 028632 to arrange.
Don J. Finlayson of Provo received a warning for parking in a restricted zone. Denzel Craw of Milford was fined $5 for no registration. Harry Mayes, a transient, forfeited $10 bail. Clyde Turner of Milford fined $2.50 for parking before a stop sign. Leon Swindlehurst of Beaver fined for parking before a theater. Thomas Bradfield, Jack E Day and Clyde Turner of Milford were each fined $100 for unlawfully killing deer.
Bonneville Barley, a new Utah variety developed by USDA agronomist Rollo W. Woodward, shows 10 to 20 percent higher yields than Velvon in tests. Originating in 1935 from a cross of winter club and Colorado 2063, it boosts farm production and feed grain supply. Limited seed is available at local stores in Beaver County.
Beaver County taxpayers are set to pay about 198000 this year as their share of interest on the national debt. R L Irvine of Utah Lumber Co cites rising federal spending and warns of higher taxes if Truman proposals go through. He notes per capita interest amounts to about 40 annually and urges a return to fiscal responsibility to avoid bankruptcy.
Two Beaver County youths from the western end Mil ford Robert Floyd Wright and Minersville Ted Horace Carter are ordered to report for induction on April 2 at Fort Douglas to begin military service. The call marks the first western-only draft in months. A second pair will depart April 9 for physical examinations.
Three Milford hunters plus a juvenile were fined 100 dollars each and sentenced to 0 days in jail with jail time suspended on payment of fines and good behavior. Game Warden Othello Riley arrested them near the Mineral Mountains east of Milford. Justice officials imposed fines and confiscated gums from the group.
Mrs. Anna Rae Carter was slightly injured in an auto accident April 2 near the Experiment Farm east of Milford. Riding a car owned by Tom Gillins of Milford, she ran out of gas and, while being pushed, struck a soft shoulder. The car overturned down an embankment throwing her into a ditch. she escaped serious injury but sustained multiple bruises.
Beaver County Democrats schedule mass precinct conventions next week with District 1 meeting at 8 p m April 7 at Earl Stonehacker home and District 2 to meet at a location to be announced Eddie Leech is District 2 chairman. County nominating convention and reorganization set for April 16 at Beaver County Court House.
A Milford High School trio suffered serious head and eye injuries in a car accident near Minersville last Friday night. Barbara Tanner and Donald Rowley remain under care at Milford Hospital, Darryl Schramm received minor hand cuts, as others in the party escaped with lesser harm. The Ford sedan lost control on a curve by the cemetery after lights failed, sending debris and shattered windshield into the road.
Milford hosts the 1952 Cancer Control Fund Drive on April 10 and 11 led by campaign chairwoman Mrs. Loretta Cline with director Mrs. Wanda Holm. Volunteers will canvass Milford and South Milford residents as part of a house to house effort highlighting cancer research support at the University of Utah and nationwide grants.
Lt Col O W Harris commander of the BAC Air ROTC squadron visited Milford High school with four Beaver County air cadets and a sponsor. They met the senior class to discuss ROTC benefits and potential BAC attendance for next year.

Mr and Mrs A T Anderson of Kimberly Nevada spent the weekend with Mrs Andersons parents Mr and Mrs Blaine Banks and family. Mr and Mrs Frank Musbach plan to return to Fremont Nebraska soon. Dr Loyd Kohler leaves today for Salt Lake City to attend the General Conference in four days.
Mr and Mrs Bill Haynie left for Hock Springs Wyoming last Friday. Frank Baker replaces Haynie as local skipper at AT T station and is due to arrive in Milford this weekend. Don Dunn and wife plan to depart Milford Monday for Ohio where Mrs Dunn will live while Mr Dunn serves in the armed forces. Dunn worked at Jefferson Mercantile Co. J R Lang and wife bought and moved into the Haynie home. Quinn Englestead returns to Milford from Cedar City after winter. W W Welch replaces Victor Kellogg at the US Weather Bureau coming from Boise with family to join Milford in about six weeks. Kellogg family enjoying a California vacation before moving to the Middle West. Gordon Murdock and wife celebrate arrival of son Joseph Warren born April 1 at Iron County Hospital weighing 6% pounds.
Mr and Mrs M B Leffingwell and Mr and Mrs Owen Stoker left Wednesday for a few days of fishing at Lake Meade.
