Milford Public Library purchased The Railroader by Dr. W. F. Cottrell of Miami University Ohio. The work portrays railroading’s effect on individuals with wit and local relevance to Milford residents. Dr. Cottrell is a former Milford student and has taught sociology at Miami University. Milford High School grounds cleanup and a tree planting drive were announced with small trees for sale at Je Nok.
The eighth anniversary of the Civil Ion Conservation Camp will be observed by Company 1506 at Burbank on Sunday April 6 with games, tours, a turkey dinner and a program. Captain Basil B Taylor will open the celebration and speakers include Thomas Caldwell La France Galli and Judge B W Clay with a free showing of Brigham Young after the program.
The report notes last week’s storms left .26 inches of precipitation. March’s total rainfall reached 1.59 inches, according to local weather records maintained by the CAA.
