A demonstration of service by air arrived in Milford when impellers for the water pump at the Quadmetals mine were unloaded at Milford airport at 5 15 PM. J I Kelly in charge of Airways Lightining described the flight from Los Angeles, noting the brief stop as the plane proceeded to the mine. P B Pusher, Quad supervisor, oversaw the jump parts on their rapid transfer.
William Tribale, son of Mr and Mrs J F Tribale, joined about 70 voices in a regional music performance at the Masonic Temple in Salt Lake City Sunday morning. Tribale is a student at Westminster College in Salt Lake.
Karl G Link of Tintie Lead Mining Company spoke at a Lions Club meeting in Frisco detailing the King David mine. He described a dyke drive of about 250 feet into a limestone footwall well mineralized for 100 feet and now positioned to cross-cut into the shear zone above the dyke. He remained confident in a new Horn Silver scale producer emerging.
Lieutenant H S Hamilton acting commanding officer of CCC company 476 at Desert Branch Experiment Station invites the public to a Sunday open house marking the Civilian Conservation Corps fourth anniversary. Separate observances were planned for Desert and Milford camps to showcase each unit under the Forest Service and Interior Department respectively, with light refreshments reportedly mentioned for the afternoon.
Mr and Mrs C L Firmage of Milford attended the funeral in Salt Lake City on Sunday for their cousin Louise Chipman Firmage revealing a close family gathering amid the service.
Plans advance for a CMTC camp at Fort Douglas running from July 1 to July 40 providing basic military training for about 200 young men from Utah Idaho Wyoming and Navajo counties. The program aims to foster citizenship discipline and physical development with transport food lodging medical care and uniforms supplied at no cost. A surgeon and chaplain will supervise health and morals. a parent day is slated for July 29. Applicants must pass a physical and furnish a character certificate from a trusted adult.
SOUTH MILFORD notes recall a Social Hour club gathering with members including Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Jones. After a business meeting refreshments were served and plans for demonstrations by U. S. A. C. extension division discussed. A storm on March 21 damaged power lines and homes nearby.
About 25 to 80 Milford residents journeyed to Zion Park for an Easter pageant staged by the Branch Agricultural College and Delay County Chamber of Commerce. Grant Redford directed and starred as Christus in the production, which despite snow and rain drew three to four thousand spectators and enthusiasts hope for annual repeats.
