Rayson will back Steeze for Ninth District seat

Midlothan to Test Residential Lighting Plans

Village officials will develop lighting test plans for model streets in Midlothan. Edmund Burke and Ed Williquette lead the effort to evaluate street lamps at 149th Street west of Crawford Avenue. The district already installed luka lux lights along Crawford Avenue and 147th Street as part of a $1.6 million program.

Village and Knights of Columbus Sponsor December Blood Drive

The Brother William Kerkel chapter of the Knights of Columbus will host a village wide blood drive on Sunday December 14 from 10 am to 3 pm at the village hall 14801 South Crawford as part of Illinois State Knights of Columbus Blood Donor week. The Beverly Blood center will provide a mobile unit and donations support the Blood Assurance plan with options for single or family memberships. Donors aged 17 to 65 in good health may donate up to five times in a 12 month period, with eligibility checked on donation day.

Zoning Board Holds Hearing Tonight in Midlothian

The zoning board of appeals meets at village hall 14801 South Crawford at 8 p.m. to consider rezoning two parcels. Lot 3947 West 147th Place from A residential to EB business and 4323 West 147th Street from CC two family dwelling to EB. Public hearing open.

Nine Arrested After Steak and Flame Lounge Brawl

Midlothian police arrested nine people after a fight at Steak and Flame restaurant and lounge on Crawford Avenue. A chair was used in the fray injuring William Scrandell. James Watkins was identified as the offender. All nine face disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property charges.

Highland Games Rummage Sale Set by Midlothian Committee

The Midlothian Highland Games committee sponsors a rummage sale at the Midlothian shopping plaza near 144th and Crawford. It runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, with donations of furniture clothing appliances and toys welcome and pickup available via Marge Wilke at 385-1525. Proceeds fund the 1976 Midlothian Highland Games planned for June.
