Murder in December on the Brightside estate
An anonymous letter to the Middlesex Journal reveals a December murder near Thunber in which George Millner and William Brown were shot and bayoneted by John Shirtliff and Roebuck while hares were being hunted. Brown died from the back shot. Millner fled, later stabbed, and left for dead.
