CVADD Approves Grants and Middlesboro Hospital Plan
At its monthly meeting the Cumberland Valley Area Development District revised by laws to align with federal rules and expand membership. The board approved a $4.5 million Middlesboro hospital project, a $249,354 federal grant plus $38,810 local funds for family planning, and the hiring of engineer Greene L. Keith to aid eight county development planning.

Tokyo reports Treasury Secretary George Shultz announcing wholesale food prices in the United States have fallen sharply over four weeks, with declines in beef, chicken, pork, and soybean meal.
