Big Insurance Firms Reject Ike Proposal

Washington insiders report major U S insurers rejected President Ike's health insurance pooling plan. Polio Cases Reported In Nation Last Week

Public Health Service reported 92 polio cases nationwide last week, down from 189 a year ago. Yearly totals reach 1463 cases, compared with 1590 in the same period last year, and a five year average of 198.

Obituary for Jesse Dumm Hamm 52 Pruden resident dies

Jesse Dumm Hamm age 52 of Pruden died yesterday in a Mid-Melboro hospital. He is survived by his wife Emily Laney, one son James and Tammy of Knoxville, a daughter Mary Frances McMahan of Howell Michigan, a brother Joe Hamm of New York City, three sisters in Maryland and Indiana, and seven grandchildren. The family will receive friends tonight at Carlisle-Shumate Funeral Home and the body will be taken to the home in Pruden tomorrow afternoon. Funeral services will be held Saturday at noon at the Praden Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Youkum Corners, Spordwell, My. Hamm was a member of the United Mine Workers Local Union No. 5318 and the White Oak Order of Odd Fellows. Carlisle Shumate Funeral Home in charge.

Funeral services and obsequies at two churches

Funeral rites were held yesterday at the Pentecostal Church on Winchester Avenue officiated by Revs Puller and Fern Dilkinson with burial in Turner Cemetery Colmar. Pallbearers included Lonie Dalton Grange Collett Jareld Ihinsflee Hobart Rebel Tack Rev. Ne Oniek and W Clark. Honorary mourners were family friends. Music was provided by a choir directed by Jextiette Yeary and accompanied by Mrs Junior Buon. Also funeral services for Choraton Cadle of Merragate were held at the Primitive Baptist Church Gibson Station Virginia officiated by Revs Leonard White and W B Bingham. Burial was in the Sheffner Cemetery near Harrogate with honorary mourners Spurgeon Ram Shiffner Joe Cottren Hoffner Roy Sheffer Hoffner and Ray Richards.
