Shell Brady Thomas Dunn and Tom Trensley were arrested on suspicion of helping Tip Long and Jim Herrell escape and held at the city jail. They admitted visiting Knoxville last night leaving Lee early evening and arriving at dawn. Police believe Long and Merrell fled in a car owned by Tom Venstex. Mrs Brady, Tip Long’s daughter, may be at Twenty first Street. A $100 reward is offered for capture of the escapes and descriptions sent to officers statewide. Police in Knoxville seek the two men.

Rum runners use plane to beat federal vigilance
New York May 4 The rum fleet which fled yesterday in the face of a three sided government attack circled back and lies off the coast in extended formation the coal guard service announced. The fleet has adopted a sealine transport plan to thwart landing of liquor cargoes as reported by the customs house. Coast guardsmen said they intercepted a large gray jsonplane beside the rum running yacht and the plane sped away when signaling the revenue cutter approach.

Body of drowned man found near county bridge
A man identified as Bob Williams Williams, drowned Sunday evening, was found Monday morning about a mile below the county bridge, more than five miles downstream from the prior drowning. Sam Tambert Frank Williams and Chiles Bartner located the body. Williams was a member of the Royall Arch Masons at Shawaner. lodge members will conduct funeral services tomorrow afternoon with interment at aggregate.
