No Ceremony For Russell
The National Basketball Hall of Fame will display Bill Russell in a 10 foot stained glass window but will not hold a induction ceremony for him. Russell refused the induction and will not attend April 28, though the others will be recognized. Hall officials said Russell may be enshrined in abstentia if a good reason existed, otherwise no ceremony. Meanwhile, Kentucky beat Indiana 83-79 in the East regionals, with Benson's 23 points and 23 rebounds offset by Kentucky’s stronger bench and guards led by Flynn and Conner. Knight faced a technical foul but praised the outcome as the best team won.
