US and Russia vote against Portugal in Angola at UN

The United States joined Russia in voting against Portugal on a UN Security Council resolution condemning Portugal's actions in Angola. The measure failed, gaining only five votes as France and other NATO members abstained. Altered Kennedy Jobless Plan Faces Senate Debate

Arlene Culaiar 24 of Malvern gave birth to quadruplets at Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Upper Darby. Doctors predicted multiple birth outcomes. father William Cutafar said it felt like a dream. Tennessee session nears end as lawmakers push final days

Goldwater Proposes Three Steps to Fight Recession

Senator Barry Goldwater told the Delaware Valley Industrial Editors in Philadelphia that he backs three measures as the surest way to expand the economy, balance payments, and create jobs. He urged Kennedy to liberalize tax depreciation allowances, withdraw the proposed minimum wage hike, and urge unions to resist wage increases not tied to productivity while opposing featherbedding.
