NASHVILLE March 8 Associated Press reports Sam Haston brother of Secretary of State Ernest Haston mother Mrs Sam Haston and four others were shot at the Haston home three miles from Spencer Tennessee early today. Douglas a paroled negro convict is charged with the shooting and is being hunted after escaping. Details are scarce and Mrs Haston is seriously wounded with a leg injury reportedly caused by bullets. Secretary Haston rushed to Spencer with bloodhounds.

Giant Smoke Stack At KU Substation 18 Is Being Razed
Work to demolish the Slant brick stack of the old Kentucky Utilities substation at Nineteenth Street and Bloomsbury Avenue proceeds today.
