Haroldein Collinsworth son of Mr and Mrs Arthur Collinsrots 2 of hourville Kentucky serves as guneler master repairman in Headquarters and Service Company of the division 1234 Ordnance Battalion He entered the Army in July and completed exercise training at Fort Knox Kentucky during duty at Fort Hood Texas.
Aboard the USS Tasox with Fighting Squadron 24 are Vernon Stewart son of Mr and Mrs John Stewart of 416 Second Street Pineville and Lynn E Coleman son of Mr and Mrs John T Coleman from Ret 3 well Acde Henry C Kelly AP 15525490 son of Mr and Mrs Herbert Kelly of Ewing, Mississippi. Kelly has served six months and attends a radio operators school.
David Willis second class machinist’s mate USN of Rawle, Virginia, serves aboard the destroyer USS Arnold J. Istell, a unit of the US Navy Fleet participating in the Tachen Islands evacuation.
Gertrude C. Gander of Cannon arrived at Fort Eustis Virginia and joined the 724th Technical Service Unit. She is the daughter of Albert Gander and served in the Transportation Corps Women’s Army Corps.
Eugene Bennett of Route 3 Barbourville aided evacuation efforts aboard destroyer USS Hamer, a 7th Fleet unit, which took part in evacuating Taehon Is lands.
