Republican Budget Study Group Forms in Kentucky
Frankfort, KY UP I reports that a seven member Republican budget analysis committee was formed to study state spending. Led by House Minority Leader Leon ard Hislope the group will issue bi monthly reports and hire a budget analyst with funds from GOP legislators. 33 Measures Are Passed By House In Kentucky Assembly
FRANKFORT Ky UPI The Kentucky House passed 33 bills Tuesday after a five hour push as a Rules Committee gains power to screen measures before town end of 1964 session. Two Senate approved bills were rejected and a garnishment modernization proposal was tabled amid a metro rural clash. A pension fund plan for second class city employees also cleared the House.

Liberty measure begun in Virginia
In Virginia the House of Delegates approved a Liberty amendment to abolish federal income taxes and Social Security, with a move toward a constitutional convention if sent to Congress. The vote was 40-38 with 48 sponsors, led by Bel. T. Coleman Andrews Jr. of Richmond, son of former internal revenue chief Coleman Andrews. Del. Kathryn Stone warned of national effects. The amendment would target government taxes and activities seen as in competition with private enterprise. A separate amendment would allow bake sales by ladies' aid societies on Thursdays. Troops will return to Kenya from Uganda next Monday, as Premier Milton Obote says the crisis no longer requires their presence.
