Weather Underground Claims Gulf Oil Building Bomb

Weather Underground claimed responsibility for a blast at Gulf Oil international headquarters in the Gulf Building. The 9:41 pm explosion damaged offices and marble, but caused no injuries. police noted no link to a separate 11:36 pm bomb threat at the Chamber of Commerce building. FBI found an eight page anti Gulf Africa document, dismissed by Gulf officials as irrelevant.

Kentucky Man Loses Suit Against U.S.

A Kentucky man, James Douglas Yager of Carrollton, who is jailed in Tennessee, lost a $200,000 civil suit against U.S. government officials at Atlanta federal court. The judge directed verdict against Warden Henderson, upheld claims that the rest of the charges were unfounded, and rejected the allegations of harassment and rights violations as trifling.
