Fork Ridge defeated New Tazewell twice in a city softball doubleheader. In the first game Clark earned the win with Douglas Loveday closing, as Karmit Hatinaker hit two home runs. In the nightcap Lavnday started and Fork Ridge built a big lead before Farmer finished on the mound, with three double plays highlighted by sharp fielding.
Mixed results across the Southern Association and National League with several doubleheaders and extra innings. Knoxville, Little Rock, and Nashville posted notable scores while Atlanta and Memphis also appeared prominently. upcoming games include Knoxville at Little Rock and Chattanooga at Birmingham.

Miami Florida 16 year old William Sawyer captured three specimens of the rare butterfly Papilio Andrazmon Ronhotei in a hammock while gathering material for a junior high science class. The event ends a 38 year quest by scientists. Sawyer learned of his discovery only after presenting the specimens to teacher F Harold Matteson who alerted experts including J B Giles Clarke.
Fred Wolcott led a sprint and hurdles double as he set an AAU record in the 30.4 seconds event and matched the Olympic record of 10.3 seconds. Ried dominated hurdle events with new American and AAU records in the 110 meters and tied world marks in the 280 meters, claiming two AAU records with 89.9 seconds.
