Fire officials say ammonium nitrate stock aided deadly fumes from three deliberately set blazes. About 200 residents evacuated. damage estimated at 250000 dollars. Authorities warned to leave area and avoid the fumes until notified.
Senator Kefauver D Tenn urged creation of an Atlantic convention under Hoover guidance to develop new ideas for strengthening NATO. He promoted U S participation and a citizen forum from NATO nations to address questions facing freedom and the West, calling it the most far reaching step in years.

Icy Middlesboro roads over the weekend led to two automobile collisions reported by police. Samuel Rains’ car slid into Silas H. Evans’s on Bellwood Road Saturday around 3 p.m., causing moderate damage to both vehicles. Sunday at about 5 p.m. Reneld G. Meyers’s car collided with Mossier Coleman’s on Balmoral Road, with both cars sustaining damage.
