January 17 Pineville Judge J. Bangham and N Z Arnett began a survey for a new 12 mile road between Page and the county line. State road commissioner Hugh Asher says the route was surveyed last summer and once right of way is secured contracts will be let. The project will connect Pineville with Harlan County directly.
R. W. Snyder and G. B. Snyder arrived as advance agents of the Kentucky Conserva tion and Fire Prevention Association. The group plans a Thursday and Friday program including a special film at Manning Theatre and talks to be delivered by F. G. Snyder and state insurance commissioner J. Ramey. Judy, Hil and Kincaid will speak. Howard Hambright joins E. T. Hackney Co. and will move to Middlesboro with Mrs. Hambright.
