Three area basketball tournaments are planned for Christmas week. Hazel Green hosts York Institute in a regular game Tuesday while Evarts and surroundings host the Evarts Invitational with six teams including Leslie County, Deryall Indians, Black Star and Everts. The Tri Cities event at Cumberland features Benham, Lynch, Manchester, Breathitt and others with opening games tonight and a Wednesday championship. Bell County Invitational opens next Monday with Middlesboro, Williamsburg, Pineville, Lynn Camp, Jane Jack, Bell County and Red Bird in the field.
