Life Without Parole Deemed Adequate in Chowchilla Case
In Chowchilla California the father of one abducted child said life in prison without parole is adequate punishment for the crime. Frederick Woods Richard Schoenfeld and James Schoenfeld were found guilty of bodily injury in the 16 hour kidnapping that involved a buried truck and a ransom plot. Alameda County Judge Leo Deegan presided, and three defendants pleaded guilty to kidnapping while denying bodily injury charges. Residents welcomed the verdict with relief and justice perceived.
