Obituaries from Middlesboro and Cleveland areas report the deaths of Sidney Denny 75 of Chester Avenue Middlesboro in Middlesboro Kentucky on December 10 1965 and Maudie Jane May 63 of Cleveland Ohio formerly of Middlesboro who died December 4 1965. Denny born February 23 1890 in Bell County Kentucky lived 45 years in Middlesboro worked at Middlesboro Tanning Company and was married to Angie Hoskins. Funeral arrangements are set for December 12 at Cawood Funeral Home with interment at Hurst Cemetery. May born October 4 1902 in Claiborne County Tennessee belonged to Fonde Baptist Church and leaves sons Leon Ancil and Beatrice June and Beulah plus a dozen relatives. Funeral services are scheduled for today at 2 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Chapel with burial at Hurst Cemetery.

Homer C. Day 62 of 111 Edgewood Road Middlesboro died December 11 from injuries in an automobile accident. Survived by wife Billie Moss, three sisters G B Caster Sr, Frank Broyles, Roccoe Turner, and several nieces and nephews. He worked 47 years as an engineer with Louisville and Nashville Railroad and lived in Audiesboro five years after moving from Coal Creek Tenn. Funeral Sunday December 12 at 2:30 pm at Fulton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Truett Miller. Active pallbearers listed. honorary pallbearers include First Baptist Church Baraca Class members.

Baby Survives After Ingesting Mom's Diet Pills
Kenneth Douglass, 18 months old, survived a near fatal ingestion of phenobarbital from his mother’s diet pills. He was in critical condition at Children's Hospital, had a 13 hour surgery and dialysis, then recovered enough to leave hospital after 37 days. Doctors reported the dose was twice the amount usually fatal for adults, yet Kenneth regained movement and respiration.
