In Harlan Kentucky two weeks after a Pine Mountain incident three men die in a church house near Poor Fork. Davis shoots Halcolm after a confrontation then Halcolm’s brother and another Halcolm son die in a duel as police and hospital reports detail the chaotic triple tragedy.
Jeffries of Pineville is slated as Kiwanis speaker at the Thursday gathering. Attorney Japies Tr. of Pineville and High B. Firece, Louisville, will be present as counsel for the Tyntiaville PHL Company. Mr Fleeve in 1881 planned a visit to Siddiesboro University School at Ancaster Hotel on Arthur Weights, with Major J. Sterrett as principal. The Trebsterian church ladies hosted a charity picnic at Richmend Springs to fund a new church, drawing strong attendance and honors by Judge Te Annterron as chairman who will award the attendance prize.
A masked bandit fatally wounded SW R Faulkner 58 as he closed a Tib Liberty Street filling station. The robber took about $80 from Faulkner's pockets and fled toward the I&NX railroad. A bloodhound traced the track to the railroad, where a train was passing. Faulkner was taken to a hospital and remains gravely wounded. Authorities posted a $250 reward, with Gov Fields asked to offer $500. The robber was small, about 122 pounds, wearing a Hinck mask and loosely dressed.
Gibson Station Virginia August 19 a Gibson Station merchant Marty Lee Willis was robbed at dinner by a masked man who opened a screen door and took more than 100 dollars and Willis' gun. Officers are now searching for the robber.
Circuit Judge J. G. Forester convened the Harlan County circuit court with one of the heaviest dockets on record. More than 700 penal cases and about 200 alleged felonies are slated for trial. The judge asserted bootleggers are a major enemy of the American people and noted Kentucky saw record crime in the last year.
Kentucky Attorney General says state funds may pay travel only for official business with approval, criticizing trips outside Kentucky by Mrs Cromwell and others as improper. Ford Motor company demonstrators who staged a display of tractors trucks and trailmobiles here yesterday went to Ko Hill Va for similar demonstrations this morning. They showed seripers unit graders on North Twenty fifth street where the Hum bard Constitution company is doing work and also trucks to a local lumber firm. Motion pictures were shown last night at the vacant top at the corner of Nineteenth street and Cumberland avenue. The party includes C L Penboy Mr Grilliatt Alan Flora Samuel Holt Mr Roberts and Mr Marsh of the Dealers' Supply company Cincinnati and Mr Wallace of the Trailmobile company Cincinnati.

Four miners died in two accidents at Lynch mines operated by United States Coal and Coke Company. Reports say two foreigners and two Black workers were crushed by falling sandstone while working at a main entrance. one foreigner exposed to live wire also died.
Middlesboro reports show a quiet month with only five births three boys and two girls. Ten deaths are listed including three that were tragic two from mining accidents in Lynch and an automobile crash.
Baltimore August 19 Native American stock in the Pallet States may increase to 2160 as birth rates rise among native and foreign born populations. Mrs. G. Gms suffered a severe finger injury when an empty fruit jar exploded while she opened it to prepare canning fruit. The jar shattered, severing a main artery on her deft hand. Dr. T.
