Two MIGs Downed by U S Air Missiles in North Vietnam

UPI report from Saigon states two Soviet built MIG21 jets were shot down over North Vietnam by air to air missiles during a dogfight. No American planes were lost. Additional reports: nine miles from Phu Vinh in Vinh Binh province casualty details in Mekong Delta and a separate day long engagement in Song Re Valley with seven U S soldiers killed and 21 wounded.

Three Die In Wreck Near Corbin Kentucky

United Press International reports three people died early today in a fiery crash between a car and a tractor trailer three miles south of Corbin on US 25E. Victims were in a car with Ohio license plates and identified only by their burned remains. The truck driver was hospitalized in critical condition. The incident increased Kentucky's 1867 traffic toll to 567, compared with 613 to date last year.

Mississippi Governor Runs Third in Democratic Primary

Gov. Paul Johnson, seeking the No 2 post while still governor, slid to third in a six man lieutenant governor race as Mississippi's Democratic primary produced shocks. William Winter and John Bell Williams advance to a runoffs for governor, with Phillips the lone GOP major office candidate. Negroes won several county seats, and Barnett lost his bid for a second term in a historic election tainted by lengthy tabulations and a computer mixup in Hinds County.

Labor organizer cites south union busting aiding big business

A Washington labor organizer told Congress that union busting in the South makes businessmen a hero to the Chamber of Commerce and country club sets. James J. Bell County Centennial Contest at Pineville
