In Woonsocket Rhode Island on August 5 Lucien Souci a reporter for a French newspaper appeared with a letter K burned on his forehead and left arm. He said the marks were made by hooded Klansmen with a heated iron during the night. He reported finding Spud hiding in the grass near the Klansmen meeting.
A five member committee N R Patterson M F Creech W T Davis R Bingham was appointed by the Bell Fiscal Court to investigate the proposition of a new jail for the county. The panel will study cost location and methods of raising funds to replace the current facility.
