Washington To Appoint Delegates For Georgia
Administrator Oscar R. Ewing accepted Georgia's 36 member all White delegation for the White House Youth conference and will name 18 more likely Negroes. Governor Herman Talmadge called the arrangement satisfactory, ending a dispute over the state's Children and Youth conference in December. Georgia will have 54 attendees and two thirds of a vote per delegate. The extra 18 will be named on recommendations from local groups, with the national committee seeking broad representation of each state's population.
