New Witness Reported in Till Case Trial
Chicago Defender executive director Enoch Waters said Leroy Collins, once brought to Chicago by a Memphis reporter, was located in Mississippi and may testify in the Till murder case. Collins disappeared before Roy Bryant and J. W. Milam's Mississippi trial and is said to be interviewed by attorneys in Chicago. Another missing witness, Henry Lee Loggin, reportedly is in Glendora Mississippi. Mamie Bradley remained in Provident Hospital in fair condition after addressing an NAACP rally in Detroit.

Miami will host about 50 000 Legionnaires and auxiliaries October 8 to 13 for the 27th American Legion National Convention. Andrew J. Johnson of John Griffin Post No 165 was elected head of the 11th District Public Relations Dept. Plans include hospitality stops, a Florida vacation tie in, and free coconuts and rest lounges for guests. Frank additions include a hospitality stop by Post No 220 Ft. Lauderdale and convention HQ at the Lord Calvert Hotel in Miami.

Fire Destroys Multiple Buildings at Dorsey High
Two boys aged nine and ten confessed to starting a fire at Dorsey High School on August 6 at 7100 NW 17th Ave. The blaze began in one building and spread to seven more before firefighters contained it. Juvenile authorities held the suspects as the investigation continued.
