Nassau Excursion Draws 60 for Junkanoo Parade Fashion Show
Nassau Bahamas last Friday more than 60 persons joined the Ebony Tours Miami Nassau excursion under North's Travel Bureau to witness the annual midsummer Junkanoo Parade and the Miami Nassau Sepian Fashion Show and Beauty Contest. The Junkanoo Carnival, backed by the Nassau Development Board, outdid last year's performance with praise from local papers. Miss Rose Edwards, a Miami girl, won first prize in the fashion review and beauty contest at Cat and Fiddle Night Club. Models included Miss Olga Smith and Miss Meriel Francis, with Miss Leona Everett and others modeling native fashion. Judges included Miss Gerri Major and Mrs. Cleveland Eneas.
