Moonshine King George Wiggins Ordered to Trial
George Wiggins known as the Moonshine King was ordered held for trial on illegal whiskey charges after preliminary hearings before U S Commissioner Roger Davis. Wiggins posted 500 bond and was released. Ossie Buckings 23 of Perrine failed to make bond and was held on the same charge. They were arrested Friday July 13 at a still about eight miles north of Homestead. Agents seized 30 gallons of moonshine 1300 gallons of mash a 250 gallon still pot 34 50 gallon fermenters a 1950 automobile and a truck.
