Georgia Clerk Urges Integration in North Georgia Conference
Atlanta area cleric Bishop Arthur J. Moore urged end to racial segregation in the North Georgia Methodist Conference last week. He called for a majority rule to implement integration amid a proposed constitutional amendment by the General Conference at Minneapolis that would allow Negro and White conferences to unite. He said in the south races must live side by side and that distrust harms, while respect and cooperation heal through friendship and helpfulness.

Wilkins says GA NAACP tax free under IRS ruling
NAACP executive secretary Roy Wilkins responded to Georgia State Revenue Department action in assessing seventeen thousand four hundred ninety five dollars for back income taxes. He cited a 1941 IRS ruling that the NAACP is a tax exempt non profit membership corporation and said they have never paid income tax federal or state and do not believe they are liable unless an authoritative ruling changes that.
