Dinner for 30 colored guests at Lighthouse for the Blind
Cliff Baker and Conrad Farmer of Baker's Famous Corner sponsored a Wednesday afternoon dinner for 30 Lighthouse for the Blind members. Rev. Edward T. Graham gave the opening address. Mrs Hartris assisted, while Buster Collie prepared the turkey dinner. An entertainment program followed, with singing and music, enjoyed by all. The Bakers plan an annual event as long as Baker's Corner remains under current management. Sirgt H Rollins, from Flamingo Wing, returned from Gunter AFB after completing an aero medical technician course.

2 Year Old Killed by Stray Bullet on Christmas Day
Samuel Bright Jr. 2 was killed on Christmas Day while on a tricycle outside his home at 15931 NW 17th Place. A stray bullet struck him in the chest, and he died 20 hours later at Magnolia County. Sheriff John Tyler said the shot appeared distant. Sammy’s uncle witnessed the incident while his nephew and sister were awaiting adoption.

Miss Naomi Clark aged 27 was found dead in a bedroom on Christmas night at Tigatinee Sill NW 13th St. She was pronounced dead on arrival at Jackson Memorial Hospital. The death was ruled natural causes after a post mortem. Survived by her father John, stepmother Margaret Clark, brothers John Jr of New York and Leo, stepsiblings Alfred Bradshaw and Shirley Bradshaw King. Francis Funeral Home handles arrangements.
