Bellamy Charged With First Degree Murder Of Teacher
Bellamy faces a first degree murder charge for the November strangulation death of Miss Hozie Mercedes Byron 25 a Liberty City Primary School teacher. The body was found November 30 at 2681 NW 49th St. after an argument Bellamy allegedly confessed. He pleaded not guilty at a preliminary hearing as witnesses testified including deputies and teachers. Trial date not set but expected within weeks this courtroom drew a large crowd. Bellamy, paroled from Raiford for a 1940 Ocala murder, is in custody of county authorities.

Fall From Roof Claims Life Of Local Roofer
Charles Henderson, 45, died Friday afternoon at Miami Beach after a ladder slipped from an apartment building where he worked as a roofer. Witnesses said he was adjusting the ladder when the hanging supports slipped from the eaves, and he fell three stories to the ground. Henderson lived in Coconut Grove.

Rev Faysons Mother Killed In Crash In Florida
A Sunday crash on Eau Gallie wrecked a 1950 Chrysler owned by Dr. G W Hawkins of Miami. Lucinda Arrington, mother of Rev H W Fayson, died while being taken home to Orlando after a visit.
