Florida pastor found guilty of first degree murder
Rev Assan Lou Orjuna, former Coptic Church pastor in Miami, convicted of murder in Broward County. A visiting judge presided as an all white jury recommended life in prison, after a trial linked to the 1950 killing of Episcopal priest Osmond J. McLeod near Hollywood. Prosecution said Orjuna, a spiritualist and therapist, orchestrated the crime to claim life insurance payouts and attempted to collect posthumously. He had lived under an alias in Chicago before being brought back for trial.
