White Dope King Shot by Narcotics Detective in Los Angeles
In Los Angeles police say narcotics detective William H. Caskey killed Stanley Mutersbaugh during a confrontation as Mutersbaugh attempted to deliver heroin. The incident followed a court order directing Mutersbaugh to appear for contempt in a divorce action involving his estranged wife Sue Mutersbaugh and their four children. The couple, married in 1938 and separated in 1952, had wealth and properties including a liquor store, with the children aged 3 to 12. The autopsy reportedly found three heroin bundles in Mutersbaugh’s throat. Federal officials noted a revived dope ring supplying local users.
