Mrs. Emmett Johnson receives a special membership pin from the Olivet Women’s Society of Christian Service. A separate notice outlines art displays by Hawthorne, Eugene Field, and Garfield students at Mexico-Audrain on the children’s floor and in the library basement, with a batik show in October. Miss Susan Gibson of Columbia a Garfield School teacher was honored at a coffee hosted by Mrs. Lucille Stowers. She will marry Larry Ray Purdy of Columbia on Oct. 7 at the Columbia First Christian Church. A pale yellow autumn centerpiece lit by candles graced the table with tea and coffee served by Lola Miller and Miss Susan Kelley.
