President Nixon said a new test facility at Hanford will produce abundant, affordable energy with minimal pollution, funded by the Atomic Energy Commission and electric power partners. He announced two LMFBR prototypes by 1980, noted federal support of about 200 million dollars, and described a shift to a sodium cooled reactor design while warning no location was yet chosen.
