Farm Protest On Wheels Demands Break-Even Prices
A 50-tractor caravan from three states rolled into Pueblo Colorado to press for guaranteed break-even crop prices from the federal government. Organizers say 5,000 farmers from Kansas Oklahoma and other states will attend a Pueblo Municipal Airport meeting with Agriculture Secretary Bergland as they threaten a Dec 14 strike if demands are not met. The group operates without formal membership and aims to halt production and purchases if unmet.
