SW Bell Seeks Rate Hike To Sustain Service Quality
Missouri regulator heard Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. must raise rates to fund capital and maintain high service standards. Standard Time Restoration Seen by Congress
Congress may move to restore standard time from October 27 to February 23 next year. The House passed the measure August 19 and the Senate Commerce Committee recommended floor approval. Mercury Dips To New Low Record For Date

Courses Open To Post Grads Dropouts Policy At Mexico AVTS
Mexico Area Vocational Technical School will admit post high school students and school leavers into the daytime program if space allows. Post grads may enroll in drafting sewing and dressmaking secretarial and clerical practice. Non high school completers under 21 in the district may attend with no tuition. Buses Offered for Marine Band Concert in Mexico
The United States Marine Band will perform at Presser Hall in Mexico on September 25 with free transportation for all ages. School buses will carry students to a 2:30 p.m. matinee, and OATS will shuttle attendees to the 8 p.m. concert.
