Pattonsburg Power Gets OK
Washington AP reports an Army Engineers board approved 28.6 million dollars of electric power facilities for Pattonsburg lake on the Grand River in northwest Missouri. Hearings on congressional authorization will be held Sept 15 by the Senate Public Works Subcommittee on Flood Control. Final approval rests with Congress.

Missouri adds inspector to handle air pollution complaints
Jefferson City AP Missouri Air Conservation Commission hired a new inspector, William O Beauchamp 39, to aid in handling air pollution complaints. He becomes the fourth inspector and will cover out state areas outside local agencies in Kansas City Independence St Louis St Louis County Springfield Greene County. From June 1 to Aug 11 the commission investigated 101 complaints in 40 Missouri counties involving 67 firms and several other cities counties state institutions and private residences. Twenty nine complaints were resolved and legal action was brought in nine cases.

8-Cent stamp in Cincinnati marks pharmacists' anniversary
A commemorative 8 cent stamp for the American Pharmacists Assn. 120th anniversary will debut Nov. 10 in Cincinnati. The design features the Bowl of Hygeia and the mortar and pestle with the word Pharmacy. First day requests must be postmarked by Nov. 10. Also announced are 1973 stamps honoring Gershwin and Willa Cather as part of the American Arts set, with other stamp plans for Copernicus and Giannini. The British Guiana stamp catalog lists the rarest stamps with record prices.
