Resignations Up To Gov Hearnes On Training School Board

AP reports six members of Missouri’s state training school board submitted resignations to Gov. Warren B. Hearnes, who was en route to Puerto Rico for a governors conference. An earlier House Appropriations Committee inquiry followed a spate of assaults and escapes, prompting promises of stricter discipline, better food handling, and segregating problem youths. Jerry Doty, new president of the association, called the resignations courageous and aimed at clearing the troubles.
