Insects Reported Problem In New Wheat

Insects in this year’s wheat are being reported. Six weeks after harvest, fumigate if grain wasn’t treated. Check bins every two weeks in warm weather for damage, usually at the top. If moisture exists, damage may be deeper. Use label maximums, not minimums, and avoid windy fumigation. Adjust bin level to within six inches of the top. Wear a mask and follow label directions. Spray the grain surface with premium grade mutation to prevent indian meal moth damage.
